木工人珍貴遺產

The legacy of one woodworker


南崁 吳福泰先生 無意間讀到「木工私塾隱居山林間」的報導，心生感動，於是決定將父親 吳煙灶匠師 ﹝新竹﹞生前使用的木工具，全數贈與懷德居教學展示。


8/13 依約前往吳家，親自瞭解手工具的種類和數量，眼見一位台灣老木匠的遺物，欣喜萬分，懷德居幸獲饋贈，真的感謝吳家後人的信任與關愛。



回來後稍事整理分類計：框鋸 3、日本雙面鋸 1；大支鉋刀 5，各種彎鉋邊鉋槽鉋等 29 支，牛角鉋 4 支，其中鉋刀最大者長 51.5 公分，最迷你者長僅 8.5 公分，非常古錐；另鑿刀 9 支銼刀 7 支，大小劃線刀各 2，角尺、水準、秤錘等各 1 以及洋干漆生漆熟漆等塗料。這些工具當中，不少市面罕見，顯然是匠師自己打造的，真地印證蒲松齡（1640~1715）的木工長詩：「木匠祖師是魯班，家伙學成載一船。斧鑿鏟鑽尋常用，曲尺墨斗有師傳。斧柄錛榐自家做，鉋刀鎪鋸都值錢。………」

這些珍貴的木工遺產，自當用心整理，就在2008秋季班開課前夕，懷德居無負吳家所託，全部工具業經整理妥善，除供教學展示外，特將接受前後過程拍照存檔，公開在部落格與木工友朋分享。
